See May 9, 2024 letter below for information about connecting water to you house.  DO NOT connect to the new water system until you receive correspondence from the Town and/or Town Engineers indicating approval to do so.  Disinfection and testing needs to be completed and approval given by the NYS Department of Health before the system can be put online and made available to the public.

An Engineer's update is below through October 2022.  A Groundbreakiing Ceremony was held at the Schroeppel Town Building in December 2023.  Construction began in December 2023 and completion is anticipated in Summer/Fall 2024 (weather dependent).    A WD Map (pdf) is provided below.  Increase view (%) to zoom in and use side and bottom bars to move around map.

A public hearing was held on December 20, 2022 to present the updated project costs, as detailed in the letter mailed to property owners in the Water District dated December 7, 2022.  As presented at the public hearing, if a petition to hold another vote was not submitted by January 20, 2023, the project can be awarded to the contractor and materials can be ordered.  Lead times on ductile iron pipe (DIP) were a minimum of 6-9 months.  Based on this, materials won’t be delivered for construction until late summer/early fall 2023.

December 6, 2022:  The Resolution was passed by the Town Board and a Public Hearing was held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 6:15 pm.  Our Town engineer (C2AE) presented updated information, including grant approval from the December 15, 2022 legislative vote.

The Town of Schroeppel recently had a meeting with its engineers and contractor for the project.  Again, due to the increase of materials, the town has submitted an application for additional assistance from the COVID Relief Funds (ARPA) through Oswego County.
