CR 57 / Huntley Rd Water District

C2AE  -- April 8, 2024 Board Meeting Update
CR 57/Hunt1ey Road:
We have applied for additional Congressional Discretionary funding for this project. we will apply for additional WIIIA (Water Infrastructure Improvement & Intermunicipal Grants) once a new round Is announced.
We are continuing work on the construction documents (plans and specifications) as we head towards agency
Once we feel the construction documents are complete, we will send the documents out for Agency Review and complete the permitting process. The Agencies will Include DEC, CSX, county Highway, DOH, Army corps of Engineers, OCWA, the Canal Corporation and the Town.
As we wait for additional survey, the agencies will comment, and we will respond to the comments to gain approval for bidding in the early Summer

December 10, 2024: 

• We are working on producing the construction documents (plans and specifications) as we head toward agency review.  We are expecting this work to be completed by the end of the year. 
• We have reached out to some individual property owners where easements may be required as part of the proposed design (i.e., the Proposed River Crossing).  As we work through finalizing the proposed layout, more easements may come to light (Proposed Railroad Crossings).  We will work with the Town's attorney through this process. 
• Once we feel the construction documents are complete, we will send the documents out for Agency Review and complete the permitting process  We expect this to happen after the new year (late winter).  The Agencies will include DEC, CSX, County Highway, DOH, Army Corp of Engineers, OCWA, the Canal Corporation, and the Town.  
• The Agencies will comment, and we will respond to the comments to gain approval for bidding in early spring (March).  We would recommend advertising for bids at this time, with hopes of starting construction in the summer 2025.

The water district Public Vote was held on August 3, 2023 and was passed.  

A Public Hearing was held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 6:05pm at the Town Building.  A public hearing was held on August 16, 2022.  A mandatory referendum (vote) was scheduled,on March 9, 2023 from 12pm to 8pm at the Town Hall (which has been rescheduled to August 3, 2023). If the vote is positive, design of the project will begin.  Bidding is scheduled for Winter/Spring 2024 with construction expected to begin Fall 2024.
