Bankrupt Road Water District
Construction is expected to begin Fall 2023 and be completed in Summer 2024.
Previously...
A public hearing was held on December 20, 2022 to present the updated project costs, as detailed in the letter mailed to property owners in the District dated December 7, 2022. As presented at the public hearing, if a petition to hold another vote is not submitted by January 20, 2023, the project can be awarded to the contractor and materials can be ordered. Lead times on ductile iron pipe (DIP) are a minimum of 6-9 months right now. Based on this, materials won’t be delivered for construction until late summer/early fall 2023.
December 6, 2022: The Resolution was passed by the Town Board and a Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 6:15 pm. Our Town engineer will present updated information, including grant approval from the December 15, 2022 legislative vote.
The Town of Schroeppel recently had a meeting with its engineers and contractor for the project. Again, due to the increase of materials, the town has submitted an application for additinional assistance from the COVID Relief Funds (ARPA) through Oswego County. The announcement for the receipeints of those funds are hopefully being announced in December.
At this time, pipe is approximately 9 or more months out from order to receipt. Unfortunately, due to the increase in pricing, it continues to delay the project. At this time, we are hoping for a late spring to summer time-frame to begin constuction.
We apologize for another set back. We are continuesly working every measure possible to bring this to a reality for each of you.
Thank you.
