Registration is on a first come, first served basis.  Pre-registration is required to attend the following programs.  No registrations are accepted by phone unless specified in the program description.

 

We must have sufficient numbers registered to cover the cost of the program, so sign up early.  Otherwise, you risk the chance of your program being cancelled.  We reserve the right to cancel or combine classes if necessary.  The programs do not carry accident insurance.

 

To register, download a registration form under Community Services "FORMS".  Use one form per person and one form for each program.

9TH - 12TH GRADE BOYS & 7TH - 12TH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL - completed

There will be an evening registration Wednesday, February 24 in the EJD hallway (new part of school) from 6:00 - 9:00 pm for your convenience.

 

Season begins 2nd week in March and ends the middle of May with a tournament.  Varsity rules (no shotclock).  Practices/games, twice a week on average (evenings and Saturdays).  Reversible jersey included in registration fee.  Black shorts required.  Fee:  Residents - $45 ($30 if using own jersey), Non-residents - $50 ($35 if using own jersey).

 

CORE/WALKING/YOGA NEW!!! - completed

 A complete body/mind workout.  Increases cardio fitness, helps with weight control, enhances core strength, and improves flexibility while relieving the stress of the day.  NEW DATES:  April 1 - May 13 (no class 4/22) from 6:00 - 7:15 pm.  Held at the EJD Middle School Walking Track.  $36.00 for 6 week session.  Please bring clean, dry sneakers and a mat to class.  Registration required.

 

 

 WOMEN'S WORKOUT  NEW!!! - completed

  A variety of workouts for adult women, including Tai Chi, yoga, dance aerobics and more will be offered in this exercise program designed to relieve stress.  Maroun Elementary Primary Cafeteria on Thursdays (4:00 - 5:00 pm) from November 5, 2009 - May 27, 2010.  Registration required -  only $15!

WALK/RUN Program --FREE - completed

EJD Middle School walking track, Wednesdays 6:00 - 8:00 pm and Saturdays 10:00 - noon. March 3 - May 1 (no program on 3/6, 4/21 and 4/24)

Get rid of the winter blues and join us for some exercise at the walking track at EJD. Walk at your leisure or train for a 3.1 mile run. Please bring clean sneakers for track. You must pre-register with Community Services to attend.

 

CO-ED Softball League - cancelled

Registration Fee $250.00 plus Ump Fee (includes ball field maintenance, balls, sanction fee, umps assigner fee and scorebook) Also $50.00 forfeit fee. Registration and Forfeit fee (separate checks - Registration fee to Community Services and Forfeit fee to Trust & Agency) must be accompanied by a complete roster form.

Games will be played on Friday beginning May 7, 2010 and ending in mid-August. DEADLINE to sign up is APRIL 5, 2010.  All games will be played at the WJ Farley Park.

Saturday May 1, 2010 9:00am to 1:00pm and Sunday May 2, 2010 1:00pm to 4:00pm. At the Town Hall. 10 years to adult. Fee for under 17 years old is $5.00. 18 years old and up  $15.00 (includes state certification) You must register with Community Services

 

Red Cross Certified Babysitting Course - completed

Saturday May 1, 2010 from 9:00am to 3:30pm. At the Town Hall. Boys and Girls age 11 to 15 will learn first aid, safety and how to care for children. Registration required, deadline April 28.

Pickle Ball : NEW!!!  

Age 12 – to senior citizen.  Instructional program.

Town tennis courts. Pickle Ball is a combination of tennis & badminton. 

You use lightweight paddles & a plastic perforated ball.  The game is a slowed down

version of tennis. Class size limited.  Pre-registration required.  Call 695-2801 if interested in playing.


CO-ED Kickball League : NEW!!! Sundays Starting May 9 - cancelled - low enrollment

Cost:  $175, plus $25 forfeit fee.  Teams of 8 or more.  Second season 7/11-8/29. 

Registration fee includes ball field maintenance, 1 ball per team, 1st place

trophy, sanction fee, & scorebook.   DEADLINE:  April 5


Preschool Arts in the Park : (FREE) July 6, 13, 20.  Class is full.

Preschoolers age 3 – 5 years & their parents will experience the joy of

creating with various everyday art materials at WJ Farley Community

Park – Pop Warner Pavilion.  A chance to have messy fun with other kids

& moms (dress accordingly).  This 3 – week session will include painting, sculpture, construction,

& other imaginative fun. Tues., 10:30 – 11:30 am.  Class size limited. 


 

 

Creature Tales (FREE) Thursdays, July 8, 22, Aug. 5 and 19.  Class is full.

Children ages 3 - 5 yrs will listen to tales of interesting creatures, view some up close, and explore nature in many ways.  Held at the WJ Farley Park (pavilion on the hill), from 10:30 – 11:30 am., on Thursdays.   

Children will use their senses and their imaginations with some of

the activities and  will learn to appreciate every living thing  that walks

the earth.  Children will need to wear sunscreen and dress in comfortable

clothes & sneakers. 

 

 

Lacrosse Instruction - ongoing registration

(FREE)  6 week introductory program at William J. Farley Town Park

Girls, ages 5 -8 yrs. will play on Thursdays, beginning 7/8 from 6 - 7 pm. 

Boys, ages 5 - 8 yrs. will play on Thursdays, beginning 7/8 from 7 - 8 pm.

 

Girls, ages 9 yrs. and older will play on Wednesdays, beginning 7/7 from 6 -7 pm.

Boys, ages 9 yrs. and older will play on Weds, beginning 7/7 from 7 -8 pm.

Learn the sport of Lacrosse and hone your skills catching, shooting, & cradling. 

Even though this is a free program, you must register.

Ages 5 - 13 years old will be instructed in track and field events at the JCB High School Track.  This program is offered on Mondays,  June 21 thru Aug 2, from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.  Pre-registration is required.

Grades 7-12th can shape up this summer by attending our weight training program with instruction in the JCB High School weight room.  July 19 - August 12 (Monday - Thursday). 

Emphasis will be on safety, proper technique, and reaching personal fitness goals.   

 

Art Camp -  ongoing registration for 8 - 12 yr. olds only

We will offer a six-week quality art program.  July 6 - Aug 12.

Mon. & Wed.: Ages 5-7 yrs. from 10:00 –noon.

Tues. & Thurs.: Ages 8–12 yrs. from 10:00 – noon.  

Some art projects are more than one day, so plan on attending most days.

USTA Tennis Program  -  ongoing registration

(FREE)

Offered by USTA/Youth Bureau.  Fridays, July 9 - August 13 (no class July 23) from 9:00 - 10:00 am.  For ages 6- 12 years.

They supply equipment (racquets and balls), you bring the enthusiasm!   You must register for this program.

Parents must also fill out release form. 

 

 

 

Schroeppel Day Camp - July 12 to Aug. 20    ongoing registration

Join us for an all day, activity-packed program from 9 am - 3 pm that will

happily tire out your child(ren). This camp is for children ages  5–12 years.  

The day includes group games, sports, nature activities, arts & crafts, drama skits & other fun stuff. 

Friday fieldtrips, free school lunch until 8/17 (no lunch program last few days, bring a lunch) & a camp t-shirt are included in the registration.

 

Cost -$65 per week for residents, $70 per week for non-residents (early registration - by Mon., 

one week before camp week).  $10 more after early registration. 

Registration Deadline:  Wednesday, the week before attending camp.

K -2nd grade & 3rd – 5th grade play on Mon. & Wed. at the town fields, beginning

July 7 (clinic) from 6:00 - 7:00 pm (K – 2nd), & 7:15 – 8:15 pm (3rd – 5th.).

6th – 8th grade & 9th – 12th grade play on Tues. & Thurs. at EJD or MAM fields,

beginning July 8 (clinic) from 6:00 - 7:00 pm (6th -8th), & 7:15 - 8:15 pm (9th – 12th).

 

PLEASE NOTE:  The first night for all soccer participants will be a clinic at the town fields at your regularly scheduled time.

 

Shin guards are mandatory!  No Metal cleats allowed!  We need  parents to

volunteer to help coach for this program.   Please volunteer.
