PROGRAM  REGISTRATION  INFORMATION

Registration with the Community Services Department is on a first come, first served basis.  No registrations are accepted by phone unless specified in the program description.  Any checks should be made payable to:  Community Services, unless specified otherwise.

 We must have sufficient numbers registered to cover the cost of the program, so sign up early.  Otherwise, you risk the chance of your program being cancelled.  We reserve the right to cancel or combine classes if necessary.  The programs do not carry accident insurance.

 To register, print a registration form from the Community Services "FORMS" link and send it in or return in the drop slot on the town building door.   Please use one form per person and one form for each program.

FALL/WINTER PROGRAMS AND EVENTS

 

9TH - 12TH GRADE BOY'S & 7TH - 12TH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL - now registering

See Spring programs - Begins 2nd week of March

 

NEW  PROGRAM:  CORE/WALKING/YOGA 

 A complete body/mind workout.  Increases cardio fitness, helps with weight control, enhances core strength, and improves flexibility while relieving the stress of the day.  NEW DATES:  see "Spring Programs" on website. Held at the EJD Middle School Walking Track.  $36.00 for 6 week session.  Please bring clean, dry sneakers and a mat to class.  Registration required.

NEW  PROGRAM:  WOMEN'S WORKOUT  - ongoing registration

A variety of workouts for adult women, including Tai Chi, yoga, dance aerobics and more will be offered in this exercise program designed to relieve stress.  Maroun Elementary Primary Cafeteria on Thursdays (4:00 - 5:00 pm) from November 5, 2009 - May 27, 2010.  Registration required -  only $15!  

YOGA & SCULPTING (Workout with Weights) - Next session March 8 - April 12, 2010

Mondays, January 4 - February 22, 2010 (6 week ssession - no class 1/18 or 2/15) from 6:00 - 7:45 pm at Maroun Elementary Primary Cafeteria.   Dress comfortable and bring a blanket or mat to class. 

Fee:  $36.00 yoga only / $48.00 yoga and sculpting .  Registration required.

YOUTH  BASKETBALL LEAGUE REGISTRATION  - completed registration

For boys and girls 1st - 8th grade.  Evening registration will be held at Maroun Elementary Open House (9/23 & 9/24), and EJD Middle School Open House (9/30).  Cost:  $45 residents, $50 non-residents.  Also, you can register NOW at the Community Services office Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. 

 

RED CROSS BABYSITTING COURSE  - completed

Saturday, October 10th from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm at the Town Building.  Boys and girls 11 - 15 years of age.  Become certified, learn First Aid, safety and how to care for children.  Parents - your child will be equipped to care for other children as well as themselves.  Fee includes book, emergency ref. guide and CD. Class size limited - first come, first serve.  Call for more info.

Wednesdays, October 21, 2009 - April, 2010.  MAM Intermediate gym.  7:00 - 9:00 pm.  Cost:  $20 resident, $25 non-resident.  Pre-registration with Community Services required. 

 

ADULT VOLLEYBALL  - ongoing registration

Mondays, October 19, 2009 - June 2010.  MAM Intermediate gym.  7:00 - 9:00 pm. Small fee/evening.  Registration required

 

HALLOWEEN PARTY & DANCE - completed

Friday, October 23, 5:30 - 8:30 pm.  Costume Contest 6:30 pm SHARP! Join us for some SPOOKY fun and DANCE the night away!  Bob O'Connell, DJ, will entertain you with fun and games! Cider & doughnuts!  FREE!

 

FLU CLINIC  - completed

Friday, September 25, in the Town of Schroeppel dining room, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm.  First come, first served.  Clinic is open to all senior citizens and people who have serious medical conditions.  Flu shot:  $30, pneumonia:  $55.  Seniors please be sure to bring your Medicare B card and Today's Options.  For those with other insurance coverage, you pay for vaccination and will be given a form to send in for reimbursement.

 

THANKSGIVING COLORING CONTEST  - completed

This contest is for MAM students only.  Begins November 3 and ends November 18.  Coloring sheets distributed through classrooms at Maroun Elementary.  Please drop off coloring pages at the school's main office or the Community Services office. 

 

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING & PARTY  - completed

Saturday, December 5 from 6:00 pm - ?  Games, treats, and Santa!  Sweet Memorial Building.

 

FOUR SEASONS FAMILY SKI/SNOWBOARDING DAY  - completed

Tuesday, December 29, 2009, & Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Cost:  Lift ticket/trail fee - $12.  Ski from 10 am - 4:30 pm at Four Ski Center in Fayetteville.  Also available is a lesson & rental package for both downhill & cross country skiers (lesson 11:30 am).  Skiers & snowboarders can rent equipment & take a one hour lesson at 11:30 am (payable to Four Seasons) all for $27/person/day, but you must register with the Community Services in advance.  Use general registration form on website.  You provide transportation & chaperone own children.  Deadline:  12/28 for 12/29/09, and 2/15 for 2/16/10.

 

SNOW TUBING NIGHT  - completed

Wednedsay, Dec., 30, 2009, & Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010.  COST:  $13.  Join the fun at Four Seasons Ski Center for a night of snow tubing.  They supply the tube & pull you up the hill, you simply enjoy the thrill of the ride as you zoon down the hill!  Fun for kids of all ages.  Separate slopes & lifts keep you safe from skiers. 

Deadline:  12/29 for 12/30/09, & 2/16 for 2/17/10.

 

SNOWMOBILE SAFETY COURSE - completed

Saturday, November 14, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, in the Town of Schroeppel Courtroom.  Children must be 10 years old by the date of course and have a copy of birth certificate.  Will become NYS certified.  A $10 charge for adults 18 years and older for NYS certification.  YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER to attend this course. 

 

OREO OLYMPICS  - completed

MAM students only.  Thursday, January 21, for grades K- 4.  Held in the MAM Intermediate Cafeteria from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  Please call the Community Services office to register. 

 

MOONLIGHT SLEDDING PARTY  completed

Friday, February 12, from 6:30 - 9:30 pm, at the WJ Farley Community Park (Chestnut St.).  Come enjoy the hill and keep warm by the bonfire (Phoenix Enterprise Fire Co. #1).  Free Hot Cocoa, Bonz's Bean & Coffee Machine (food & hot beverages), and lots of fun!  Call in registration (we need approximate count for cocoa).  Weather permitting, we need at least 6" of snow for sledding.

 

It's Time for S N O W B L A S T !!!!!!! Let's Have a Blast in the SNOW!!!!  

 

SNOWBLAST 

Saturday, February 13, from noon to 6:00 pmOutside:  Snow Softball Tournament beginning at noon (you must register in advance), Snow Kickball Tournament beginning at noon (register in advance), sledding, snowboarding, Snow Sculpture Contest 12:30 - 2:30 pm,  and Bonz's Bean & Coffee Machine (food & refreshments).  Inside:  crafts for kids, professional entertainment 2:00 - 5:00, prizes, food and refreshments available for sale courtesy of Parents & Leaders of Phoenix Scouts, Troop 750.

 

SNOWBLAST SNOW SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT will take place during Snowblast beginning at noon.  Coed teams must be made up of an equal number of women and men, and all must play.  ASA rules apply.  Minimum of 10 players.  Play for bragging rights to a large trophy, each player receives a Snowblast tee shirt and winning team gets a cash prize.  $100 per team .  Registration deadline:  January 22.  Call now!

  • Refund Policy:  If a program is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment you will receive a full refund. No refunds unless medically necessary or under the discretion of the Community Services office.   
  • A $5 administration fee will apply to all refunds. 
  • Town Policy:  $50 charge will be applied to all returned checks. 
  • Pictures taken for publicity purposes will be used on the Town Website and in other media – unless a parent/guardian has notified the Community Services office otherwise.
